“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small
men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore
the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion.
Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential.
Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
Mohammed Ali
Theo St. Francis, alum of
NBA and student at M.I.T., brought this to our attention two weeks ago when he
was discussing the power of the Mind-Body connection as it relates to his
willingness to overcome hardships. Our team faces the same tasks daily as well,
though in a different arena.
Ali was indeed ahead of his
time in many respects:
Positive affirmation – “I am
the greatest!”
Relaxed jaw – he lost more
mouth pieces than any fighter ever
Value of hard work – “The
fight is won far from the witnesses”
